Performance Forum Labs introduce the themes and issues of AKDC's productions to our target community and groups through a series of workshop programmes that run over a 3 to 6 month period.  The workshops empower women and girls to be creatively expressive, working with professional artists to explore the themes of the production and relate them to their own lived experiences. This culminates in a performance by the women to showcase their unique stories in women only environments – and enables us to strengthen and make relevant the themes we are working with.

Bibi Rukiya Performance Forums have taken place in Luton (Hat Factory), Birmingham (Birmingham Hippodrome), Southall (West London) and most recently Slough. 

West London | Bibi Rukiya Performance Forum Lab

Bibi Rukiya Performance Forum took place in West London (Watermans Arts Centre)  after an eight month workshop programme with Southall Black Sisters clients.

Luton | Bibi Rukiya Performance Forum Lab

After a six month workshop programme with CYCD womens group the Performance Forum Lab took place at Hat Factory.

Birmingham | Bibi Rukiya Performance Forum Lab

After a six month workshop programme with x6 womens groups and x4 Girls schools -  the forum lab took place at Birmingham Hippodrome Patrick Studio

Slough | Bibi Rukiya Performance Forum Lab

A three month workshop programme with a number of Slough womens groups on the theme of Patriachy led to the Forum Lab at the Curve Venue before the production at the Place, London.
