A unique performance/installation narrating local stories originated during Covid lockdowns when AKDC continued their creative engagement in their regional hubs – Luton, Woking, Slough, London, and Birmingham - with women reaching them through WhatsApp and Zoom. Using traditional Kantha – a south Asian form of embroidery, participants told their Covid experiences and stories.

In the final part of the project the Kanthas are kinetically progressed to Kathak by Amina Khayyam to a music score of Borodin’s Nocturne specially adapted by Jonathan Mayer to Indian instrumentation.

Presented at at Luton (Dallow community Centre) and Woking (Peacock Shopping Centre with Dance Woking) and Birmingham Hippodrome
